Application Process

Applicants that meet the minimum qualifications will receive an email from Georgetown Police Departments Professional Standards Division (PSD) issuing a background packet to be completed and submitted within 60 days. Successful completion of the background packet will advance applicants to the next stage in the hiring process. Applicants who fail to submit a properly completed background packet within 60 days will be removed from the process.
***Note: Applicants must pass each step to continue through the process ***

Step 1: Successfully submit the completed background packet issued by PSD within 60 days.

Step 2: Successfully complete a pre-screen interview.

Step 3: Achieve a minimum passing raw score of seventy-four (74) percent on the written examination.

Step 4: Successfully complete the BPAD written assessment. (Behavioral Personnel Assessment Device)

Please read through the disclaimer on the order page in order to have a successful download.  Payments will be submitted through PayPal via an account or credit/debit card. Once payment is submitted, PayPal automatically redirects you back to the FPSI site where access to the download link will be located on the “Order Details-Checkout Status” page.  Applicants must pay close attention to ALL instructions on both FPSI and PayPals websites in order to access the instant download successfully!

Step 5: Successfully complete the physical ability test. (Leopard Course)

Step 6: Obtain a minimum cumulative score of 225 between the written exam, B-PAD, Leopard Course.

Step 7: Pass a background investigation.

Step 8: Pass oral board interview.

Step 9: Oral board interview

Step 10: Pass a polygraph examination.

Step 11: Pass Chief interview.

Step 12: Successfully complete post-job offer drug screen, psychological and physical examinations, and a fingerprint background check.

 

Eligibility List:

First preference will be given to applicants who possess a TCOLE Peace Officer certification.

Second preference will be given to applicants who do not possess a TCOLE Peace Officer certification.

Applicants will be assigned scores based on the results of their written exam, B-PAD, Leopard Course, and Military & Law enforcement service credit if applicable.

Disqualification Period: Applicants who are disqualified or removed from the process for any reason must wait a minimum period of six (6) months before reapplying. If there was a specific defect that has a specified compliance period, the applicant must wait that amount of time before reapplying.
