Application Process

***Note: Applicants must pass each step to continue through the process ***

Step 1: Complete the City of Georgetown online application.  Applicants must have a valid email address to apply.

Step 2: Complete the Georgetown Police Department’s Personal History Statement and bring it, with all required documents, to the civil service exam.

Step 3: Complete a professional resume and bring it to the civil service exam.

Step 4: Written Civil Service exam. Applicants must score a 70 to pass.

Step 5: Pre-Screen Interview to access automatic background disqualifiers and organizational fit. This interview will be completed the day of the civil service test.

Step 6: Physical Essential Functions Test (Leopard Course). Applicants must complete the course in 3 minutes and 30 seconds to pass. This test will be completed the day of the civil service exam.

Step 7: Behavioral Personnel Assessment Device (BPAD). Applicants must score a 75 to pass. The BPAD will be completed the day of the civil service exam.

Step 8: Comprehensive background investigation

Step 9: Oral board interview

Step 10: Polygraph examination

Step 11: Interview with the Chief

Step 12: Drug screen and medical evaluation

Step 13: Physiological evaluation
